Jewellery Care Guide

At Tubby and Co, every piece is thoughtfully crafted to bring you timeless coastal-inspired elegance. To keep your jewellery shining beautifully, we recommend following these simple care tips.

General Care for All Jewellery

  • Put your jewellery on  only after applying skincare, perfume, hair spray, sunscreen, or lotions.

  • Remove before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping.

  • Avoid direct contact with water, sweat, chemicals, perfume, and cleaning products.

  • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place,  ideally in an airtight pouch or your Tubby and Co box to prevent scratches and tarnish.

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry polishing cloth after each wear to maintain shine.

Gold-Plated Sterling Silver (18k Gold Vermeil & Gold Plated 925 Silver)

Gold-plated sterling silver is precious but delicate. Proper care will make the gold layer last longer.

  • Keep away from water, sweat, humidity and perfume, as these may cause the plating to fade over time.

  • Remove during handwashing, cooking, or cleaning.

  • Store separately to prevent friction with harder metals.

  • Use a soft cloth only — avoid liquid silver cleaners as they may strip the gold layer.

Cubic Zirconia (CZ) Crystals

CZ crystals are durable and high-shine, but oils and dirt can reduce their sparkle.

  • Wipe crystals after each wear to keep them bright.

  • For deeper cleaning, gently use warm water + mild soap, then pat dry completely.

  • Avoid ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals.

Gemstones

Natural gemstones are unique and may vary in colour and pattern. Some stones are softer than others, so gentle care is key.

  • Keep gemstones away from direct sunlight for long hours to avoid potential fading.

  • Avoid all types of impact; many natural stones can chip or crack if dropped.

  • Clean with a damp, soft cloth only. Avoid harsh soaps and chemicals.

  • Store separately from metal chains and other pieces to prevent scratching.

Storing Your Jewellery

  • Keep pieces individually in soft pouches or boxes.

  • Avoid leaving jewellery in bathrooms or humid areas.

  • For travel, use a protective jewellery case to avoid tangles and scratches.

Tarnish & Wear

All metals naturally experience slight wear over time, especially plated pieces. This is normal with regular use. Proper care will help extend the beauty and life of your jewellery.
